“The technician was GREAT but 1-Hour as a company is not. I had a warranty motor replacement on my new Carrier unit after only 3 years in operation and 1-Hour hit me up for almost a $500 repair bill (approx. $470). In these difficult times (my wife was out of work) they were still unwilling to work with me on the cost which surprised me due to the fact that i awarded them the job to install the unit new. They were the installers of the unit. They sold me on both the manufacturer 10 yr warranty and their Corporate Company 5 yr "100% complete customer satisfaction" guarantee. However, it was just a sales pitch, they never intended on honoring it. They claimed that the $500 was for labor only and did not include the cost of the motor. $500 labor for 4-5 total manhours of actual labor to remove and install is unreasonable. The manager i spoke with, Lloyd, was inflexible and unapologetic. He claimed that because i did not give 1-Hour the annual maintenance work that he will not help me on the labor cost. I explained to him that i indeed do the maintenance but through another company but he wanted to argue with me and kept cutting me off and down. He was brash, gruff and unwilling to consider that i gave 1-Hour the installation business (cost was almost $8K dollars). I will NEVER look to 1-Hour for ANYTHING ever again. I will use John Moore. They are empathetic to customers in these trying times.”

“My ac is not cooling like it was last summer and the summers before...it is not old. I exercise in the evenings, and I turn the temp down while I work out, I cannot get the temp to come down when I need it like all the other times. I feel like when I have the warranty, I should not be charged for incidentals except filters to maintain my system. I want to be able to trust the guy that comes to inspect my system (if I was knowledgeable...I wouldn't need him) I've used Ralph to check my system for the last several years, and I've been satisfied with his work and advice. The only time,prior, that I had someone else, he tried to sell me filters at @ 7 or 8 times what I could buy them for elsewhere. The man that come this last time, told me that I needed to buy some kind of anti-mold kit to be put in the pan for $72.00, and needed to do this every year from now on. I feel like I am being sold a "bill of goods"...what will it be the next time, I am already paying monthly...I cannot afford an extra $72.00/yr. that I never needed before. My bill was higher than it should've been (compared to other summers), this past month... Overall, I am not pleased with Direct Energy service this past year. (also, I had TERRIBLE service this past year with Mr. Sparky...which was reported) If I feel that I cannot trust the company to treat me honestly, with respect...I am with the wrong company, and should be looking elsewhere...”
