“Overall, Lux Renovations did an excellent job on our basement installation. The install crew was polite, prompt, friendly, and detail oriented. We love how the basement turned out. The install crew was very receptive to feedback when we reviewed progress and saw something we wanted changed or fixed. One small point for improvement for Lux would just be a bit more communication during the whole process. There were times when communication was good and other times where I hadn't heard from them for longer than I expected (where I thought they would get back to me in a day or two, or whatever the timeline was, and it didn't happen), and had to chase them down a bit to get an answer. Not a big deal, ultimately we were very happy with how the basement came out and I would use them again.”

It was not clear, as to what they were doing, and things were done I did now know about. He also never gave me my original plot plan. They covered up my heating system in my basement. I was not happy with how they did my basement.”

“DO YOUR HOMEWORK: High pressure sales strategy, but don't be afraid to negotiate. In my opinion, there is minimal information out there that gives insight in to the overall process of the Owens Corning Basement Panel system. Lux Renovations is a company that strictly installs this system. Lux was quick to respond in scheduling a sales associate to come provide a quote (as you would expect). They sent a sales associate and he was here for a few hours, asking detailed questions and being very helpful in understanding what we wanted in our basement. He provided a quote and tried to sweeten the deal by offering discounts. There is wiggle room here, even if they say there isn't. The overall "premium" panel product bubbled the day our carpet was installed. I understand the heat needs to be raised when installing. carpet but it wasn't 90 degrees or anything. Good thing they are covered under a lifetime warranty for a situation like that. $500 FOR EACH REPLACEMENT PANEL. This is something you won't find online. The panels can dent extremely easy! Lux sticks to the contract word by word, so be sure to read every single word and know that if you want to change ANYTHING they will need to make an amendment to the contract, and you will have to pay for anything extra. They don't like to do this because they try to work as fast as possible to move onto the next job. the carpenter who worked on site spoke broken English and was extremely difficult to communicate with. Everything went through the project manager as the middle man, making the process slightly frustrating and inefficient at times. You cannot hang any shelves on these panels so be mindful of that. They give you push pins and these plastic hooks to hang pictures on, but they are not that strong. It would have been helpful to get an overview of what would happen, and when, in terms of the project timeline. I didn't know what day people were showing up, what time, if electrical was being handled on a given day, or when carpet was going in, etc... I felt I was proactively asking for that information from the PM. As the customer I shouldn't have to seek that information in my opinion. Crew was respectful and nice, and so was the PM. I felt that for this premium product I shouldn't have to already plan for it to be replaced (due to the bubbling). Detail on the carpentry could have been better as well at this price point. Molding looks crooked in some spots as a result of sub par 45 cuts. Nail holes also still visible in some places on baseboards and should be filled and painted over. Electrical boxes slightly crooked as well. This project was done on time. They really play on your emotions about mold being hazardous when it comes to traditional dry wall. If you have a dry basement with no historical issues of mold or wetness, you can save money on this product and go the traditional drywall route. Read the contract fine print.”
