“We were disappointed with our experience with Annapolis Painting Services. It was not clear who was supposed to be leading the team who painted our house and who we should communicate with. The painters who showed up had no idea what the estimate and contract we signed included, they did not wash the house prior to painting despite the company's website clearly stating this is a standard part of exterior painting. The painters did not know that they contract stipulated that wet scraping and sanding according to lead guidelines as they were explained to us during the estimate (this was the reason we selected APS), the prep process was not completed before the entire house was primed. There was not communication about the timing of the job and on a very hot summer day, we returned to a house with masking over the air conditioning units in our windows. The units overheated and the house had reached extremely high temperatures while animals were inside. Just a call to let us know they planned to mask the house the next day or any communication about the timing of the process would have allowed us to work with them, plan for their needs, and prevent what we found a rather alarming oversight. While the painters claimed they were planning on going back to scrape more, we found that they were setting up to spray the siding color in the morning before we stopped them to ask about the prep work that had not been completed (paint was still visibly flaking and peeling off the siding). Despite the job being complete now, using a satin sheen on the siding despite our specific request for flat paint to be used on the siding, there are still areas of flaking and bubbling. While those we spoke to were polite and friendly, the areas of concern we pointed out were not fixed before painting. I was happy to work with Annapolis Painting Services originally, but I am not confident this is quality work that will last.”

Victor was particularly helpful in suggesting needed trim and soffit replacements, and he and Junior did very professional work. Vladimir and his painting team also did a great job. And in addition to all the difficult high-up painting work, Edwin was kind enough to clean my skylights. All of their hard work, sometimes in the hot sun, was much appreciated.”

“i specified Behr paint and when they showed up they didn’t have it with them and convinced me to go with sherwi. williams-paint is not like the Behr formula and does not feel or look as good as the Behr i used elsewhere-they also did not use the semi gloss on trim that i requested”

“Some chips occurred because of other workers coming in and out - nonetheless, this shouldn't have happened according to Severn by the manufacturer's guarantee for paint hardness. When the painter was sent out to touch up the paint (for other stain bleed throughs and chips) he was bickering about whether a certain paint chip was naturally caused or by somebody else (admittedly there was some of both) - but why does this matter? If Severn tells me it's something I'd be protected against, why should I have to hear this person's (name is Inmar?) bickering as a customer? If you as a company tell me you'll touch it up, just touch it up and leave. It costs you pennies of material and 5 minutes of touch up time and [x] minutes of driving over to get a happy customer, instead, you (or Inmar/Enmar rather) blew it. Also, you can't always tell whether the paint chipped off on its own or whether it was by fault of somebody else. I do have another chip that occurred after the first touch up and it is due to normal shutting/closing of a drawer. But I don't want to call you for a touch up now because of this guy (name is Inmar?) being in my house rolling his eyes saying this is something that should be charged for. This is extremely unpleasant to deal with as a customer. Get your act together as a company please. The same guy (Enmar?) also complained to me for his not being paid on time. I paid very soon after Severn gave me the invoice/payment information (which was evidently delayed). Why do I have to deal with this person's complaining as a customer when I am not at fault? If you can send someone out other than Inmar/Enmar that won't shake his head or roll his eyes in my house to do minor touch ups for stain bleed through (which is covered by your own warranty anyway) and a chip that occurred because of normal opening/closing of the drawer than that would make things right. Otherwise, this survey has served as a great reminder for me to share this experience with others.”
