“I had windows installed, and I was very impressed with the quality and workmanship. They tried to sell me radiant barriers for my attic. The salesman told me my roof would be collapsing if I didn't get it done. I agreed to another $12,000.00. My son-in-law is a builder and said I didn't need that, that they were trying to gouge me. They had taken $6000.00 out of my account and I canceled the next morning within the legal rights I had to cancel. They wouldn't give me my money back. The salesman came out again, and I felt threatened by him physically, the way he acted. They keep telling me they are processing it. I have tried to speak to someone at a higher level, and no one is available.”

“During the window installation, my cats were being kept in the upstairs bathroom. Only one person on the crew spoke English and I told him where they were and asked him to make sure no one would let them out since the front door was wide open all day and the cats already wanted to run to get away from the noise. Someone on the crew opened the door and let them out and I was in a panic when I couldn’t find one of my cats for about 15 minutes. I found him eventually and when I confronted the person on the crew that should have communicated this, he childishly yelled at me “we didn’t open it!” Only my wife and I live in the house and she’s the one that alerted me to the door being open when she saw it. She knew the cats had been in there. I found out later he took a similar tone with my wife. I called the customer support line upset about the situation and that interaction, and I was connected with the crew’s manager. I was told he was sending a foreman out to supervise the rest of the job and that I’d get a call back. Neither of those things happened. The person that argued with me asked to use my restroom just before the crew was done, which I said yes to. After the crew left, my wife and I smelled marijuana in that bathroom. All of the other installations were handled much more professionally but the window installation was a bad experience.”

To leave glass around my house, leave my home unclean and have inspector state he saw it but wasn’t going to send out crew to correct, not apply caulking properly and cleanly or cleanup residue around window and not respond to concerns about cracks in Sheetrock when they were overly communicative leading up to install let’s me know the customer is not at the forefront of their business.”

“Well the meeting was only supposed to last for 30 minutes according to the lady that made the appointment with us the gentleman who came to the door was here for four and a half hours. He did a thorough job of explaining everything with the exception of the fact that they no longer make the windows that I wanted. So the day they were installed was on a weekend and of course power was not available to call about the situation. They were completely unwilling to work with us about anything and so the windows we have are not quite what I wanted that being said they are of excellent quality and we're professionally installed by by 3:00 very qualified individuals in fact the windows took less time to install than the salesman was actually here.”

While the project was on this state, I had the “QA” guy try to hard sell me on adding doors and/or gutters to my project and he managed to insult my wife and I in the process. The installation crews were always on time, efficient, professional and cleaned up before they left. If. If it wasn’t for the mistake with the measurements, the delay in their replacement and the insulting hard sell, I would give them five stars based on the product and the installation crew.”

“A three hour free estimate and sales pitch is too long. It felt inconsiderate of our time. Perhaps there is a way to get it under 2 hours. There is no single point of contact. You go from the salesman, to a measurement and prep guy, to the install team, to a quality assurance guy, not to mention all the phone people. You’re constantly being passed along to the next person. One person taking care of me and my project would feel like a more stable process and boost confidence in the company. We have multiple scratches on the windows. One has been addressed but the rest have not because the inspection happened at night and it was too dark to see. We would appreciate another inspection in daylight hours. Our shutters are the wrong color. I believe I chose a much lighter color. It would have been nice to know the style would also be different. Our previous ones were much nicer and matched our house. The new ones look cheap and do not match the house. It would have also been nice to have been told our good blinds would not be able to go back in some of the windows forcing us to replace all of them. We were asked to remove the brackets for installation, but it was not explained they would not be able to go back. Our curtain hold backs were bent to make room for installation instead of removed. I was told the ones that cracked would be replaced. They have not been as of today, 5 days later. White sealant for foam is on my colored walls and curtains. I will try to clean them but am concerned to ruin them in the process. The windows are beautiful, and I look forward to increased energy efficiency, but the process has left me questioning if we went with the right company.”

“Power Home remodeling came in and installed my new roof in 1.5 days. I like the pre-install walk through - it catches issues the sales person glosses over or mischaracterizes. For example, the sales person said I didn't need to trim back on my trees. The pre-install person did say it needed to. Also, the sales person said I should be able to claim a reduction in my home insurance for the new roof due to the quality of construction. My insurance disagreed. So this is a big ding against them. On the plus side, the warranty seems to be good - hopefully never have to test that. I picked Power Home for a new roof in the hopes to avoid the situation I had with my prior roofer - they went out of business and I had some work needed to be done. Given the size of Power Home, I hope this doesn't occur. The crew came out around 7 AM to start work - don't blame them since it was hot the days they were there. The foreman was great in trying to get all the debris removed. After several weeks, I still find nails or other pieces of metal - the install crew on the roof left a bunch up there and when there is some rain or wind, I go out and see if I find more.”

“They are good at selling their products. Once they’ve got you hooked, it’s near impossible to cancel the contract. The work was done quickly, but not with quality, damaging all of the drywall in the window openings. Flashing was not utilized which is concerning for water ingress. One of the windows on the first floor did not lock and one screen was already damaged on installation day. They did not caulk the superior parts of the windows and left gaps. The nonfunctional window was a security concern. And it still took another two weeks for them to return to fix the windows, caulking, and the screen. It would have been a longer wait if I didn’t complain.”
